Job Summary

The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire sprinkler systems across Aoka’s portfolio of federal, state, and municipal facilities. This hands-on role requires working knowledge of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems, as well as a commitment to safety, compliance, and technical excellence. The Technician supports project execution under the supervision of the Fire Sprinkler Service Foreman and is a key contributor to Aoka’s fire protection service delivery.



Location

Texas (Travel to project sites & Remote)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler inspection, service, or repair.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 13 and 25 standards and system types including wet, dry, and pre-action.
  • Ability to read basic system drawings and understand riser layout and sprinkler head types.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy for use of mobile reporting apps or service documentation tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel across Texas and occasionally to surrounding states for project needs.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • NICET Level I or higher in Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems.
  • Experience working in federal, military, or hospital environments.
  • OSHA 10 or equivalent safety certification.
  • Previous work on VA, DOD, or state-owned facilities a plus.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, test, and service fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 25, client requirements, and project scopes.
  • Diagnose system issues and perform repairs on wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
  • Replace or adjust valves, gauges, pipe fittings, sprinkler heads, and alarm components as needed.
  • Complete digital service reports, deficiency logs, and documentation of all field activities.
  • Assist in coordinating job site access, materials, and tools with the Foreman or Project Manager.
  • Maintain tools, work vehicles, and equipment in safe, clean, and operable condition.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with government site personnel, subcontractors, and internal staff.
  • Follow all safety protocols and comply with OSHA, NFPA, and Aoka-specific policies.
  • Support emergency service calls or off-hours repairs as scheduled by leadership.


Performance Indicators:
  • Completion of service and inspection tasks with full compliance to scope and code.
  • Timely submission of reports and deficiency documentation.
  • Effective communication with team leads and clients on site.
  • Safe work practices and proper use of PPE, tools, and equipment.
  • Positive contribution to project timelines and client satisfaction.

Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year based on experience and qualifications.
