Job Summary

Aoka Engineering is a municipal service and software provider that works to assist local jurisdictions. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Finance to play a pivotal role in shaping the structured finance framework with best industry practice.

Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in construction or project-based industries.
  • Strong experience in budgeting, financial reporting, payroll management, and invoicing for governmental or municipal clients.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial systems, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance, especially in the public sector.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a diverse finance team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide actionable financial insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with accounting softwares preferred

Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor payroll officers and financial staff involved in preparing invoices for municipal contracts. Foster a high-performance culture and provide guidance on best industry practices.
  • Budget Preparation & Segregation: Lead the budgeting process, ensuring proper budget allocation and segregation based on management objectives and project requirements. Collaborate with project managers and department heads to ensure that all financial aspects are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analyzing variances and trends. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.
  • Invoicing & Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of invoices for cities, counties, and local governments, in compliance with contractual agreements and local government regulations.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customer satisfaction by answering questions about invoices and resolving any issues promptly. Be in communication with related parties in each city to have conversations about billing practices and quotes. 
  • Sales support: Support the sales team by doing pricing analysis for new clients, communicating it effectively to all parties involved and formulating pricing strategies for RFP/RFQ’s. 
  • Audit & Compliance: Work closely with external auditors and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks related to projects and operations. 

Compensation and Benefits:

$100,000 per anum.

Education
